What is Royal Milk Tea?

Royal Milk Tea is a milk-forward style of black tea. Nittoh’s traditional recipes use brewed tea and milk; its instant version brings that idea into a powder you can prepare with hot water.

Inside Nittoh’s blend.

Nittoh combines finely ground Japanese black tea leaves with whole milk powder from Hokkaido. The blend is sweetened, with milk ingredients and sugar already included.

The familiar blue pack contains individually portioned sticks. Open one when you want a cup, without measuring powder from a larger bag.

A hot cup, made simply

Make your first cup.

For the individual-stick format, you need a heatproof cup, hot water, and a spoon.

  1. Open one stick.

Empty the powder into your cup.

  2. Add hot water.

Use the water amount printed on your package.

  3. Stir and enjoy.

Mix thoroughly, then let the drink cool to a comfortable temperature.

Nittoh describes this instant blend as a hot-water preparation. The milk ingredients are already in the mix.

A few good questions.

Do I need to add milk?

Nittoh’s instant blend already contains milk ingredients and is designed to dissolve in hot water. Separate milk is not required for that preparation.

Does it contain caffeine?

Yes. The standard Royal Milk Tea variety contains caffeine from tea.

Why might I see tiny brown flecks?

Nittoh identifies the brown particles as tea from the blend. Stir as you drink.

Which allergens does Nittoh list?

The manufacturer lists milk and soy. Check the current ingredient and allergen label on your package.

Keep it ready for your next cup.

Store away from direct sunlight, heat, and humidity. Once an individual stick is opened, use it promptly.
