Miso soup,
one bowl at a time.
Get to know the two packets behind a bowl of miso soup—and the four garnish choices in Marukome’s assortment.

01 / One assortment. Four garnish choices.
One assortment. Four garnish choices.
Marukome’s standard 36-serving Ryotei no Aji assortment pairs seasoned miso with four garnish choices: tofu, fried tofu, long green onion, and wakame seaweed. The manufacturer lists nine servings of each.
The assortment contains 36 miso sachets and 36 garnish sachets. Those are paired components for 36 bowls—not 72 separate servings.

Two packets. One bowl.
For this paste-style format, take a miso sachet and a garnish sachet for your bowl. Have a heatproof bowl, a spoon, and hot water ready.
- Open the packets.
Empty the miso and the chosen garnish into the bowl.
- Add hot water.
Measure the amount printed on your own package. Different Marukome formats can use different directions.
- Stir thoroughly.
Dissolve the paste and allow the garnish to rehydrate as directed. Let the soup cool to a comfortable temperature before serving.
The 36-serving assortment is the product format discussed here. Cup soups and freeze-dried varieties are separate formats; use their own directions.
03 / Make it part of the meal.
Make it part of the meal.
Serving ideas: place a small bowl beside rice, a prepared noodle dish, or a simple lunch. If you want more garnish, add separately prepared tofu or cooked vegetables.
Those additions are optional meal ideas. The packet provides the soup base and its labeled garnish; extra ingredients are not included with the product.
04 / Read the bag, not just the picture.
Read the bag, not just the picture.
The standard product’s published ingredient list includes fish-derived stock ingredients. A vegetable garnish does not by itself make the soup vegetarian.
Check your package for the current ingredients, allergens, storage directions, and best-before date. The number of retail bags in a marketplace listing is shown on the product page, separately from the serving count inside a bag.
A few good questions.
Are there 72 servings because there are 72 sachets?
No. One miso sachet and one garnish sachet make a serving. The documented assortment has 36 servings.
Does each bowl contain all four garnishes?
The assortment offers separate garnish choices. Select a garnish packet; extra toppings in the serving image are optional.
Is this the reduced-sodium version?
This guide describes the standard red-and-white 36-serving assortment. The reduced-sodium product is a different version.
How much water should I use?
Use the amount printed on the bag you receive. This avoids borrowing instructions from a different Marukome format.
